The question was...

NAME THOSE CHICKS!
Identify the bird whose chicks are shown below by scientific and common names and give its natural range in the wild. They were photographed in the nursery of Aves International on 6/21/99.

   

The hints were:
1. These three chicks were hatched 6/6, 6/8, and 6/11/99
and this is a typical clutch size of this species.

2. This is not a common species in American aviculture.

3. Its very yellow down and unusual cry are distinctive.

THE ANSWER IS:
~
Yellow-Faced Amazon
(Amazona xanthops)
native to the interior of Brazil and eastern Bolivia. Although it is classified as an Amazon parrot, the Yellow-Faced Amazon acts more like a Pionus.
